The fact that this was my third excursion with Vieri and have signed up for a fourth should be testimonial enough to how highly I value him as a teacher, critic and companion on his consistently excellent landscape workshops. The isle of Arran is a delight with ample locations of interest and variety within an island where nowhere involves a lot of road travel or hiking. The food, accommodation and company were all up to the usual high standard, with Arran being a very friendly and hospitable place to spend a week!
I started exploring and photographing the Isle of Arran in 2013, and I got immediately enchanted by the Isle’s unique combination of different landscapes. The Isle of Arran’s dramatic Glens and spectacular, unique rock formations, together with the marvellous solitude you will find on all the Isle’s locations, make for a truly unique photographic experience. After that first visit, I went back to Arran a dozen times, and I am never tired to go back for more: the Isle’s magic instantly made it an all-time favourite destination of mine, and I am really excited about sharing it with you!
Designing your Isle of Arran Residency, leveraging on over a decade of experience leading more than 110 Workshops, 7 of which on the Isle of Arran so far, I created a completely new, “vertical” Workshop concept covering everything you will need to know, from photographing iconic locations in a personal way to finding and developing your own, from working in the field to editing and processing your photographs, to creating a Portfolio.
All our years of experience and our extensive exploration of the Isle of Arran will make sure that we will have more locations on the Isle than any other Workshop, locations we will have the time and opportunity to revisit as much as needed to help you create a powerful, personal Portfolio showcasing your vision of Arran's inspiring landscapes in the best possible way.
Never changing hotel will give us the opportunity to do advanced post-processing sessions every day and edit your photographs, whether digital or film, to get the most of their potential while staying true to your vision. As well, I will offer you unique insights on how I create my personal work, develop and edit it.

Vieri Bottazzini is an acclaimed Italian Fine Art landscape photographer, writer and educator, with a personal style rooted in pure photographic craftsmanship. Passionate about the outdoors, Vieri believes in honouring the majestic power of our planet’s beauty by creating his iconic images using unadulterated photography only. Through his unique black & white and subtly post-processed colour images, Vieri tells stories about the relationship between nature and mankind, exploring the concepts of time and of the surreal.
Vieri’s Fine Art work has been displayed in solo and collective exhibitions, viewed millions of times on social media and featured on leading publications such as Medium Format Magazine, LEMAG, Elements-Landscape Photography Magazine and more.
A passionate teacher with over 30 years of experience, Vieri leads truly limited attendance 3-people Workshops in places like Iceland, The Faroe Islands, Scotland, Ireland, England, the USA, Italy, France and Spain, where he fully shares his knowledge and his artistry with his Alumni. Vieri’s diverse and vast Portfolio is the culmination of over 15 years of passion, love and craftsmanship, of months spent on the road every year, of hundreds of kilometres of hikes and most of all, of a lifetime’s devotion to the arts.
